The theme sets the brief
History, the solar system, architecture, the sustainable city, waste sorting: the subject defines what the children build and the constraints they have to respect. A medieval house has no glazed windows; a space station has no roof; a street with its recycling points is not laid out at random.
The session alternates short stretches: the host sets the subject and the constraints, the children build, everyone looks at what has been made, one more constraint is added. Ninety minutes allows three such sequences, two hours allows four.
The theme is agreed beforehand with the teacher or the coordinator, based on what is already on the syllabus. What was built and named during the session stays available to the class afterwards.
How it works
- You tell us what the class is working onThe year group, the current topic and what you want the children to take away. A theme outside our usual subjects can be prepared too: we hold 118,000 part references in stock.
- We set the subject and the constraintsWe turn the theme into building briefs suited to the age of the group, and prepare the matching stock.
- The sessionNinety minutes to two hours, in short sequences. One host supervises around thirty children; beyond that we come as a team. Your own staff stay present as regulations require, without having to run the session.
- A cycle, if you want to go furtherThe subject can be spread across several sessions in the year. We regularly work at that rhythm with after-school coordinators.
- What stays behindIf the session leads to a mosaic or a collaborative model, it stays with you. On a standard themed workshop, the bricks leave with us.

From what age?
From five, with a simplified subject and a shorter session. The format holds up to secondary level by tightening the building constraints.

What do you need on site?
Tables, chairs and a well-lit room. We bring everything else, including protective covers.
