An activity that celebrates
School fairs call for formats that are simple, visible and participatory, suited to families as much as to children. Unibrick setups offer a gentle, accessible activity, open to every age, that creates a shared moment.
An activity you join on the way past
The setup offers a simple way of occupying children and parents for the whole afternoon. Children arrive in waves, often accompanied and rarely free for long: each contributes for the time they have, then gives up their place to the next. The piece advances with no queue to manage, and with no team having to organise turns. Parents almost always join in — it was not planned, but it is the surest sign the fair is working.
What is left after the fair
The finished work is hung in the hall or the covered playground, and stays there all year. It reminds pupils of a day they helped to make, which is no small thing for a summer fair. An attraction hired for the afternoon leaves in the evening; this one is shown to parents for months. It is often what decides an association to do it again the following year.
Unibrick has worked with…
a school holding its end-of-year fair. The collective piece still hangs in the school and is there to be seen at every new term.
