Within an exhibition route, the diorama brings an immediate, reassuring presence. It can be taken in without effort, then rediscovered later, as a landmark people return to naturally. Visitors find a foothold in it, and interpretation staff a support for illustrating an idea or opening a discussion. a local authority wanting to explain waste treatment simply. Three movable scenes gave the principle a form, letting schoolchildren grasp the route waste takes and how it is put to use.
